ALYSSA (VOICEOVER): In Episode 303 "Reunion", Jaskier’s lover, Vespula, correctly intuits that Jaskier is developing feelings for Radovid. Geralt and Jasker take the lost girl from Vulipanne Castle to Anika, a druid and friend of Geralt’s mother. Geralt learns from her that his mother, Visenna, is dead. After examining the girl, Anika says that she is part-elven and under a powerful mind-control enchantment. Otto, a werewolf Geralt once saved who now lives with Anika, gives the girl an extraction elixir, in hopes that it will clear her mind.
In Redania, Dijkstra and Philippa probe Vizimir about his secret meeting with Nilfgaard: Nilfgaard will leave Redania unharmed and give half of Temeria as a vassal state in return for financial investment and delivering Cirilla of Cintra to the empire. Dijkstra and Philippa plan to “make Queen Hedwig useful to them.” Philippa says following Rience through an unusual portal led to a dead end.
Meanwhile, Istredd hunts for the Book of Monoliths, but learns it had already been recovered from a Cintran cave and sent by the emperor himself to Aretuza.
In Gors Velen, Yennefer visits the banker Giancardi and sends Ciri into town while she conducts business. She gives Ciri a locator talisman and leaves her in the care of Fabio, one of Giancardi’s clerks. Yennefer meets Tissaia in the bank’s high security vault. She accuses Tissaia of revealing to the Northern Kingdoms that Ciri is alive, but also apologizes to Tissaia about her previous behavior and asks for help in protecting Ciri. Moved by her pleas, Tissaia congratulates Yennefer on finally becoming a mother.
In the market, Ciri interrupts a sideshow and accidentally unleashes a young wyvern into the crowd. After a short fight, Ciri wrangles and kills it. Her money is stolen by a mysterious girl and she runs away from Fabio. Ciri tries to use the talisman to summon Yennefer, but instead draws the attention of Margerita Laux-Antilla, Sabrina Glevissig, and Tissaia de Vries. Yennefer finds them before any harm can be done. In the Silver Heron, the sorceresses drink and enjoy themselves. When Ciri is made to be their wine bearer, she lashes out at Yennefer and they shout at each other, angry at what the situation demands of them. Speaking to Tissaia later, Yennefer proposes a conclave to unite the Northern mages ahead of the oncoming war.
In the forest, Jaskier tells Geralt that Ciri should be brought to Redania where she’ll be protected. Geralt disagrees. After a hunch, he interrogates the girl. In a moment of lucidity, she reveals her name is Teryn and that she knew the man who abducted her from Aretuza. She becomes possessed and attacks everyone, knocking Anika unconscious. When the druid wakes, she tells Geralt about his mother’s death: Visenna was mistaken for an elf while helping a villager and beaten badly. Geralt shares memories of his childhood with Visenna and declares that he will never abandon Ciri in the same way. He leaves Teryn in Anika’s care and plans to head to Aretuza.
Over dinner, Dijksta tries to convince Vizimir to reconsider his allegiance with Nilfgaard. Radovid interrupts with a delivery given to him by his manservant: it’s Queen Hedwig’s head in a box. After the heartbroken king is taken away, Dijkstra seems unfazed, leaving Radovid confused and horrified. He accuses Dijkstra and Philippa of her death, but Dijkstra threatens him back. Philippa and Eva, one of Hedwig’s servants, make love. With her knowledge of the unusual portals, Philippa pieces together that the mage backing Rience must also be working for Nilfgaard.
Rience confronts Lydia about working for Nilfgaard and makes demands.
In Cintra, the emperor holds an audience with Cahir and Gallatin. Gallatin asks for the emperor’s help in supporting the Scoia’tael and usurping Francesca. Cahir uses Gallatin’s accounts to prove to the emperor that Ciri is still out there. Emhyr orders Cahir to prove his loyalty and the fallen general kills Gallatin in cold blood.
Ciri runs away from the Silver Heron in search of Geralt, but is pursued by the Wild Hunt on the road. Geralt finds her and scares off the Hunt, reuniting with Ciri.
