In the full 2.5-hour recording, we discuss the ‘Blood Origin’ finale, ancient elven families, what would’ve happened if Éile was the prototype Witcher instead, motherhood as a typical storyline for women, a deep discussion of Meldorf’s character arc, what inherited abilities second or third-generation witchers may have if witchers weren’t sterile, Percy Jackson, and whether or not any of the characters considered the power vacuum that’s gotta occur at the end of ‘Blood Origin’. For just $1 per release, you can get the extended cut of this episode, the paired ‘Quiz of Surprise’, and more at patreon.com/breakfastinbeauclair.

Transcript to come.
ALYSSA: Today, we’ll continue our discussion of Netflix’s ‘The Witcher: Blood Origin’ with Episode 103 ‘Of Warriors, Wakes, and Wondrous Worlds’ in which the warriors put a perilous end game in motion as truths are revealed, passions kindled—and sacrifices made.
ALYSSA (VOICEOVER): In Episode 103, our six heroes escape the other world and meet Meldorf outside Xin’trea. Syndril proposes merging himself with the heart of the beast to defeat Balor, but Éile and Fjall insist on taking his place instead. The night before their battle, Fjall reveals that there never was a secret entrance into Xin’trea. Furious, Scían leaves with his wanted poster. Meldorf and Brother Death bond, Éile and Fjall’s relationship shifts, and Fjall undergoes the trial, becoming the first prototype witcher.
In Xin’trea, Avallac’h steals Syndril’s Book of Monoliths from Balor and brings it to Merwyn. Balor attacks Avallac’h in retaliation, but is imprisoned by Eredin and Merwyn with his apprentice, Fenrick. Despite all of their efforts, Avallac’h is unable to open the portal. Merwyn returns to Balor for his help and in exchange, she agrees to release Balor and Fenrick.
Scían presents herself to Merwyn, offering to trade Fjall in exchange for her tribe’s sacred blade, Soulreaver. Scían double-crosses Merwyn’s soldiers by leading them into an ambush. Disguised in Xin’trean armor, the group and their sellswords make their way into Xin’trea.
